Forest Bathing at Rhoneymeade

led by Anne Marie Nachman, Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs (ANFT) Certified Guide.

Please arrive 10-15 minutes early so the program can begin promptly at 1:00 PM.

During a Forest Bathing walk, the trained Forest Therapy guide uses a clearly defined sequence of events and invitations in partnership with the forest which allows participants to slow down, allow the senses to open, and to experience the environment using all of the awakened senses to deepen the reciprocal relationship between participants and the forest. This supports the wholeness and well-being of both.

The invitations are open-ended. There is no expectation for how to participate or what you experience or receive. Rather, you spend time in silence, listening and feeling with a quiet and accepting presence. You become reconnected with your senses and your innate creative potential is tapped, which allows the imagination to awaken.

How To Prepare:

  • Dress warmly and for the weather: layers, sturdy shoes, hats and gloves if necessary.

  • Bring bottled water to stay hydrated.

  • Please arrive 10-15 minutes early so the program can begin promptly at 1:00 PM.

Saturdays and Sundays from October 1 - 22, at from 10 AM - 2 PM

This effort is a partnership between Pennsylvania Interfaith Power and Light and the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, which are providing native trees and shrubs along with tubes and stakes free to help protect our greater Chesapeake Bay Watershed. The goal is to restore biodiversity by providing more native plants as the base of the food chain (especially native insects) and to sequester excess carbon from our atmosphere.

Rhoneymeade will be providing free plants to anyone who will join this project. Plants can be obtained at Rhoneymeade, Saturday or Sunday, beginning October 1st to October 22nd, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. There is no charge for the plants, stakes or tubes, however, any donations would be appreciated.

You may choose from the following varieties, while supplies last:
Nine bark River Birch Spice Bush
Black Elderberry Winterberry Button Bush
Serviceberry Flowering Dogwood Red Bud

You will note that these varieties are particularly valuable to our native songbirds, as a major source of berries and insects. Simple planting instructions will be provided.

This fall Rhoneymeade is teaming up to help plant 10 million trees in Pennsylvania by 2025.

Join the fun in planting for our native wildlife!

Casey from Spaces In Between is a producer/multi-instrumentalist making music in a barn near Colyer Lake. He has been playing since he was 12 and has produced 6 DIY albums along with mentoring and producing up and coming bands. Casey plays percussion and strings to his looper pedal to play along to. Spaces In Between is influenced by classic Singer-Songwriters like Neil Young and Indie/Alternative like Death Cab For Cutie

Casey is a Supports Broker assisting individuals with disabilities that self-direct their support and wanted to help them and others to connect to local live music even if they are unable to do so in person. He received a grant from Centre Foundation to help people connect to the community via live-streaming. We've invited individuals from Strawberry Fields and The Arc along with Self-Advocates United as One who are located through the Commonwealth. More inclusive shows are currently being planned and you can follow Casey on Instagram for updates https://www.instagram.com/spaces_in_between_band/
