We started mexican sunflower and tropical milkweed from seed late winter and our gardeners massed them together in front of the Rhone House. The tropical milkweed is a larval host for monarchs (in addition to its striking orange and red flowers), and, the mexican sunflowers are a desirable nectar source for the monarchs.
